It’s proved that the eyes of our visitors will always turn first to an image. Always and first.
If the image is appealing, if it has the power, clarity, style, interest and intent enough, then the eyes will go the rest of the information (text, data, prices, specifications, etc, etc).
But if the image doesn’t attract our buyer shall flee away. Image is key.
