Photography Training
Explaining and being understood is a passion. It’s all about the same thing: communicating.
Often people have great cameras from which they only know the turn on and shutter buttons. This creates frustration.
Often people know their cameras well but know little about lighting. But light is the supreme God of photographers.
Light is based on three essential principles:
- How much is there? A lot, a little? And what happens if there is a lot or a little?
- Where does it come from? From one place, two, five? Where is it? Very high, at 45 degrees?…at ground level (oh…sunsets…everyone looks for them)?
- What is it like? Is it cold? Is it warm? Does it have tones?
Did you know that light is like a billiard ball? It bounces. And it has a decreasing inertia.
Did you know that all the parameters mentioned earlier generate different sensations?
Have you ever held a flashlight under your chin and made a “uuuuh” sound to scare someone? Well, it’s the light (and the shadows) that created that atmosphere.
Post Production
- To organize? If we don’t know where things are, they exist. But in fact: they have disappeared.
- To develop? To give the image the optimal contrast, the right brightness, the desired tone, the composition with which we express ourselves, and many other parameters. We have all the ingredients (organic). But now we want to make a great dish.
- Going further and retouching or creating? There is one thing almost everyone knows by name: Photoshop. The content is simple and complex. It just needs to be well explained.
Besides being a professional photographer, I’m also an instructor of photography, lighting, and postproduction, because I’m not just passionate about what I do. I’m passionate about talking about it and sharing it.
